I have been waiting for my girls to graduate into their big-girl beds so I could unleash loads of creative energy and years (seriously, years) of cute-stuff-collecting into their bedrooms.
Q’s room is mostly complete and let me tell you, she LOVES it! ”Come look at my big girl room!” is her standard greeting whenever we have guests. And who can blame her, I’m pretty sure it’s the happiest 12×12 box this side of the Mississippi. That might be a bit presumptuous, you can be the judge…
I bought the bed at The Cottage Collective, it’s such a great piece! The quilt was a $25 craigslist find and I found the little vintage pillow at an antique store for $3!
This Katie Daisy print was a gift from Jeremy many years ago and was my starting point/inspiration for the whole room.
Allow me to introduce you to the HAPPY WALL…
Greeting Cards, Christmas Ornaments, a Board Book, Handkerchiefs, Maps, Sonogram Pictures…
the only rule for the Happy Wall… it’s gotta be happy!
I cherish her sonogram picture, such a sweet gift from our birth mother. The map has a heart around where Q was born.
I LOVE vintage tops and toys! If you see any “Q” blocks send them my way!
The only thing I have ever found with her name on it!
This precious rocking chair belonged to Q’s great-great-grandmother, the blanket was knitted by my mother-in-law…better known as Ma’maw around here. The cowboy boots are now too small, but Q still loves to play with them.
The dresser and night stand were my mom’s when she was a kid, thanks Nana for letting me paint them yellow!
My favorite thing about this room is the mixture of colors. Hot pink, pale yellow, turquoise, red, bright orange, grass green, navy blue, and on and on and on. With such an eclectic mix of colors the possibilities are endless! Especially with the vintage theme, you can make anything work!
And since I’m a sucker for a good Before and After Shot…
Now it’s time to tackle CeCe’s room! If you are Steel Magnolias fan you are going to LOVE it! Think Blush and Bashful circa 2013. Coming soon!
